Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger is an Austrian-American actor, producer, businessman, investor, author, philanthropist, activist, politician, and former professional bodybuilder who holds both Austrian and American citizenship. While living in London during 1960’s Schwarzenegger had little money and was invited to stay with this trainer,Bennett, in his crowded family home above one of his two gyms in Forest Gate, London. While getting ready for Mr. Universe which he won at the age of 20 in 1967.
Before moving to London, Schwarzenegger served in the Austrian Army in 1965 to fulfil the one year of service required at the time of all 18-year-old Austrian males.
Although Schwarzenegger eventually moved to the United States in September 1968 at the age of 21, speaking little English but enough to get by. Living in London had helped him improve his langue skills.
Schwarzenegger is the most famous immigrant in America, which a newspaper quoted saying that Schwarzenegger “overcame a thick Austrian accent and transcended the unlikely background of bodybuilding to become the biggest movie star in the world in the 1990’s”. Schwarzenegger also ran in a government election for California, which he won and served two terms as the 38th Governor of California from 2003 to 2011.
By the age of 30, Schwarzenegger was a millionaire, well before his career in Hollywood. His financial independence came from his success as a budding entrepreneur with a series of successful business ventures and investments.Schwarzenegger always wanted to move from bodybuilding into acting. Finally achieving it when he was chosen to play the role of Hercules in 1970's Hercules in New York. Schwarzenegger drew attention and boosted his profile in the bodybuilding film Pumping Iron (1977).
In 2003, he made his third appearance as the title character in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, which went on to earn over $150 million domestically.
Schwarzenegger's commercial peak was his return as the title character in 1991's Terminator 2: Judgment Day, which was the highest-grossing film of 1991. In 1993, the National Association of Theatre Owners named him the "International Star of the Decade".
